Gingham With A Pop

I love a good pop of color, especially pink! I'm also loving a lot of gingham this summer which brings me to this Forever 21 mini skirt that I thrifted for only $4!!! I wore it with my basic black bodysuit also from Forever21 and holographic platform sandals again, from F21 (last summer but still so fun!)
As for that beauty of a bag you see? That's my OB-Bestie, Jade!
I received Jade complimentary of Oliver Bilou and just can't get enough of her. I use this bag every day when I go to work because it looks all small and cute but it can actually fit my phone, wallet, sunglasses, mini makeup bag, a water bottle, and multiple snacks!
This bag, and all the bags sold at Oliver Bilou have personalities of their own. Jade is basically my spirit bag - me in bag form. There's definitely one for you too! Each bag also has a different inspiring quote on the inside which is so much fun to peak at.

It's A (Prin)Tiki Party!

Printiki is a super fun photo printing service where you can pull photos from anywhere and be creative with how you design your prints. There are so many different styles to choose from...
You can get the regular square or the retro frame in all different sizes, photo books in portrait, landscape, or square, and even posters!
Also, the best part is that you can add little captions on your photos and play around with some cool fonts.
Printiki sent me 30 prints for free so I could make up some cool DIY projects to share!

The first one I did was a mood/inspo board using this giant clipboard I got at IKEA.
First, I spray painted the board gold to make it look a little prettier and then I collaged all my photos onto it. For this I used pictures I printed off of Pinterest and went for a pink theme and I love how it turned out!

My second project was a simple grid wall.
For this one, I used pictures of some fun memories with my friends, sister, and some bloggers I've met and shots from playing dress up at work which is the best! I also added fun captions for these photos.

Meet Jade

Recently, I partnered up with Oliver Bilou, a handbag company that is totally different than the rest!
Their story and image is right up my alley...
"We believe life’s too short to settle - too short to settle for that guy, too short to settle for that job, and most of all, too short to settle for that handbag!"

Right now, there are 5 different handbags to choose from, all classy with a trendy twist.
You can choose from Taylor, Jade, Amy, Vivian, or Mia.
Each bag has a personality of its own so it's kind of like choosing your 'spirit bag!'
+ With every purchase of a bag, they give back to children's charities, how great is that?!

So anyways...I chose the Jade bag of course. I just couldn't resist that bright pink and then when I read Jade's description I was like, "Yup, this is so me!"
Each style bag also has a different hidden quote inside which is so unique and fun for a nice little pick-me-up whenever you look inside.

Now here's my honest review of the bag after using it every day since I received it because this bright pink somehow goes with all of my outfits.
I LOVE IT!
So obviously the outside is super cute which would probably be enough to buy it (lol) but the inside is so practical for my life too. She may look small from the outside but dang, Jade is quite mighty on the inside. Theres a big space in the middle with a zip pocket on one side and an open pocket on the other. Plus if you need a little extra room you can unsnap the sides. You can see all these detail shots on the site!

How I'm rocking my Jade bag...
I've worn it with all gray and black athletic wear, jeans and a tee, and in this post a white eyelet lace shift dress from GAP (thrifted), with a navy bandana neck scarf from J. Crew, and wedged Tommy Hilfiger heels from T.J. Maxx.

Make sure to check out Jade & all of the girls below...even if it's just to read the fun descriptions!

1 ROMPER - 2 LOOKS

Look #1
The first and most simple way to wear a romper is, as is!
For starters, this is one of my favorite pieces in my closet - the orange romper from One Clothing, found at T.J. Maxx. I always like to pair my rompers with a denim jacket and really cute shoes. With this bright one in particular, I chose to pair it with blue tones; navy striped wedges (Tommy Hilfiger found at T.J. Maxx) and a navy striped neck scarf with little palm trees (Steve Madden found at T.J. Maxx).
The fun thing about rompers is you can dress them up or dress them down...

Look #2

The second thing I like to do with rompers is to throw a cropped hoodie or tee over them so it makes it look like two separate pieces. It's fun to get two different looks out of one piece and might even be a helping tip when having to pack light for trips!
This time I knotted a navy striped tee from GAP and kept it casual with some Tommy Hilfiger slides, found at T.J. Maxx of course.
This was a super comfy and summery look that I'll definitely be repeating.

DIY | STAR JEANS

The other day I was feeling very creative and crafty. I didn't really have a plan of what to do because my mindset is always "just wing it!"
I pulled out all of my fabric acrylic paints and brushes, grabbed a pair of high waisted jeans I had from WallFlower, and headed outside.
I love starry things and fun jeans so why not combine the two?!
Making a pair of star print jeans is a super easy DIY if you get a surge of creativity one day.
They're simple enough to still wear in everyday looks but fun and trendy as well.

Step 1 - Supplies/ Stencil
You'll need a pair of jeans (obviously), acrylic fabric paint of your choice, painter's tape, a sponge brush or I actually ended up using a tiny painting brush to be able to get the points and edges, some kind of thin marker for tracing, and your stencil.
If you don't already have a stencil of a star or whatever shape you want, just print an outline of it from Google. Cut around the shape with extra space (not on the line) and then go into the shape and cut on the line. Close the end together with some tape and you got a stencil!

Step 2 - Start Tracing
Start by taping down your stencil to one spot and trace the shape with your marker. Slowly lift up the tape to make sure you don't rip the paper, and repeat in all the places you want a star. I started by doing 4 on each leg front and back but when I tried them on I wanted the stars to go higher so I added 3 more up the sides on the fronts.

Step 3 - Paint!
Start filling in all those stars with your paint! I put it on thin and then went over it a second time once it all dried. I found out the hard way that even that might have been too heavy because the next day it started cracking. Don't stress if the paint does crack because if it peels off, the fabric is still dyed with the paint underneath. Also, the cracking kind of adds a distressed look which I like!

Step 4 - Finishing Touches

I imagined a white star on one of the back pockets but then realized my jeans already had these stitch designs on the pockets. I filled in the lines with paint because why not? It makes the pockets look a little bolder and brighter!

Let me know if you have done this DIY before or if you try it out!

EASY, BREEZY

Hot summer days call for little to no clothing...
My mom scored me this adorable halter dress at Target on the sale rack a couple months ago. It is super lightweight and flowy which I love. The coral stitching on the chest adds the perfect pop of color (matching my nails). I went for a beachy look with my favorite sandals from Aerosoles / found at T.J. Maxx and some oversized tortoise sunnies.
Below are some 'not so basic' halter dresses that I love for summer and exact & similar accessories to shop!
