HOLIDAY WEEKEND RECAP

The holiday may be over but I'm still very much in the spirit, so here's a recap of my Christmas weekend!

On Christmas Eve my sister and I received our onesie pajamas (from Target.)
We wore them grocery shopping and Mom was not thrilled about that, though we got tons of compliments!
We spent the night baking cookies, making some detox fruit water, and taking pictures of the Full Cold Moon,
which I was super excited about because I love the moon!
Then it was time for bed because Santa was coming!!
Fast-forward to about 9 AM, the coffee is made and we're ready to open some presents.
I got some new beauty/makeup products, over the knee suede boots, Nike sneakers, a little photo album for my polaroids, fun socks, a few articles of clothing, chocolate, and a few other random things.
For lunch, Dad cooked the typical holiday meal with ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, rolls, etc.
And later on, for dinner and dessert, we went to my cousin's house for our family gathering.
WHAT I WORE:
This outfit is definitely not the typical holiday outfit.
I don't think I've ever worn so much black in my life!
It was almost 70 degrees which is crazy for upstate New York.
I did throw on a tan knit cardigan over my t-shirt though.
But coming home from college I really didn't pack a lot surprisingly. I mainly packed comfy lounge clothes knowing I'd be just hanging around the house most days.
So I had such a hard time figuring out an outfit to wear. Also, I didn't want to dress up too much because I knew we would be at my cousin's all night and I would just be playing with all the little munchkins!
Everything in this outfit, except the sneaks, was new that day.
You can shop my outfit here:

On Saturday morning, my sister, Mom, and I woke up bright & early at 7 AM to go shopping with our friends.
We ended up going to 3 different malls and getting some really good deals!
And to make up for the lack of rest, Sunday was spent sleeping in and laying in bed all day.

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
Here's a low-quality, but super cute selfie with my baby cousin Camden!

LIPSTICK WISH LIST

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
It's 70 degrees in upstate New York right now with no snow, so it really doesn't feel like Christmas but I'm still in the spirit! Unlike a lot of people, I love the vibes in the malls and stores this time of year. I don't usually have much going on for the holiday, just chilling at home in my new pajama onesie, and maybe baking some cookies. Tomorrow, I eat a huge ham dinner for lunch at my house with my little fam and then join my big, crazy family for a ham dinner at night (so much food!)
I also can't wait to hang out and play with all my little munchkin cousins!

My Mom is already planning on when we're going back to the mall for returns because being a shop-o-holic runs in the family!
I've always been a lipstick lover, Usually layering different shades of nudes and mauve.
But lately I'm really into the bright colors!
So here are some products I really wanna try out this break, especially the suede lipstick by NYX.
I also love lip liners, to add a little volume so I want some new shades of that as well!

If you've tried any of these products let me know what you think of them!
I'll also do swatches/reviews/and full makeup looks with any new things I get, so look forward to that!
I hope you all have a lovely holiday

LOOK-BROOKE: RUNNING ERRANDS

& of course my favorite sneaks!

INSTAGRAM AESTHETIC

Happy Monday!
So, if you don't already know this....I'm obsessed with instagram & editing pictures.
I've always wanted to have a "theme" to my instagram feed,
but I'm not one to commit to one particular filter or one style for anything.
Then I came across this amazing instagram account that shows you what effects to put on your photos
to get the exemplified look.
These filters are through VSCO which I highly recommend downloading for FREE!
I use VSCO to edit all of my photos.
So here are my top 10 favorite filters & effects coming straight from @ibestfilters on instagram!
The ones I use the most are HB1 & HB2 and those are what I've been using, with a little exposure and negative temperature, to create my instagram aesthetic!
here's a preview of my theme I'm working on.
So go check out @ibestfilters & test out some filters because it's so much fun and maybe you'll find your aesthetic!

21 STOCKING STUFFERS UNDER $21

I'm so excited to say it's officially the most beautiful time of the year!
With that being said, it's also time for shopping,
and picking out gifts for anyone can be difficult.
I know a lot of us are doing Secret Santas or grab bags with friends & family,
or just running around stores trying to find the perfect, last minute gift for someone!

I love giving friends a bunch of little things, especially pretty looking ones, to make the gift more fun!
Maybe its just me, but I have always adored the cute, random accessories & beauty products Forever 21 has.
So here are 21 stocking stuffers
under $21
from Forever 21!
(try saying that 5 times fast)

LIPSTICKS & LASHES

My two absolute favorite beauty products that I can't live without are lipstick & mascara

I'm pretty picky with my lipsticks. They have to be creamy & soft, but not too glossy,
and pigmented, but not too bold.

I picked out 4 of my favorite lipsticks.
For my everyday look, I usually go for the nudes like a taupe or a subtle mauve.
During spring & summer, I love the bright corals and pinks,
and for holiday times I love this iridescent fuchsia.
For cheap lipsticks that still work great, NYX kills the game!

Shop these babies here:

As for mascaras, I have 3 faves!

Number 1 is definitely Better Than Sex by Too Faced!
It's a little pricey for mascara (for me) but I think it is totally worth it.
It makes your lashes long & bold without getting clumpy!

I also love these two drugstore mascaras
The whole "Falsies" series by Maybelline is amazing
but another cheap brand that doesn't get a lot of hype is essence.
I bought Lash Princess because I'm a sucker for cute packaging but it actually is now one of my go-to mascaras!

You can shop all of these @ Ulta or right here:

MY FALL ESSENTIALS

Being an October baby, of course I love fall!
The layering of clothes & scarves is my favorite & I just live for the cozy feeling.
With school starting soon & move-in days coming up for us college gals, we're probably starting to shop for those sweaters & boots so I thought I would share my basic necessities for fall fashion & the things I wear the most!
I'm so excited to start styling outfits for the fall,
I will also be a Style Guru for College Fashionista this semester so keep an eye out for that!

1. Sky High Jeggings from American Eagle
It's super hard for me to find a pair of jeans I like and that fit me well, I also prefer high-waisted bottoms. I'm pretty obsessed with these jeggings, they're so comfortable, the perfect substitute for leggings.
2. Lounge Leggings from PINK
I love these leggings because they are so soft and also high-waisted!
3. Cable Knit Sweater from Ralph Lauren
This is such a great staple item and great quality, I actually found this one & one in light pink from T.J. Maxx, so always keep a look out for them there!
4. Open Knit Hooded Cardigan from American Eagle
I had to buy a second one of these sweaters because I am so obsessed!
I always throw this on over a tank or tee or even just to lounge around in.
5. Asymmetrical Leather Jacket from Forever 21
I just bought this for this upcoming season & I am so excited to wear it, I love the color and it has a great fit!
6. ELLE Riding Boots from Kohl's, shop similar styles here
I've had these ELLE boots for years now so they're getting a little worn out but they're my favorite riding boots that I have ever owned.
7. Saltwater Duck Boots from Sperry
We all know the struggle of getting L.L.Bean boots with the crazy backorder so I found these Sperry duck boots that are the perfect substitute, so comfy & cute!
8. My new David Jones tote, similar style here
I just bought this the other day actually so I haven't gotten to use it yet but it's the perfect size for going to class, going to a friend's house, or just a day out!
9. Tartan Plaid Blanket Scarf from Forever 21,
currently sold out so I found one on etsy for you!
I bought this during a day trip to NYC and wear it constantly! It's the warmest and most comfortable scarf ever, I just can't get enough of it!

Here are some pictures from last year of me wearing the Polo RL sweater, the blanket scarf, and the riding boots!
